IN PRAISE OF SHADOWS

In Praise of Shadows, an exhibition of Leather Puppetry, displayed a mix of traditional South Indian puppets and modern experiments with leather and light. In this exhibition we revisited leather puppetry by looking at the technical essence of this craft – the matrix of punctures and perforations that are key to the light-play. Through such abstract sculptural pieces, KAASH brought a contemporary lens to this ancient craft, exploring the design potential and underscoring our belief of the timeless appeal of traditional crafts. This exhibition was held from 12 September to 25 September 2022.
