In Praise of Shadows, an exhibition of Leather Puppetry, displayed a mix of traditional South Indian puppets and modern experiments with leather and light. In this exhibition we revisited leather puppetry by looking at the technical essence of this craft – the matrix of punctures and perforations that are key to the light-play. Through such abstract sculptural pieces, KAASH brought a contemporary lens to this ancient craft, exploring the design potential and underscoring our belief of the timeless appeal of traditional crafts.
